To finish off my holiday in Greece (I'm flying back to the Netherlands today), here's my favourite recipe for Greek tzatziki with goat yogurt. Tzatziki is one of my guilty pleasures—I absolutely adore it. This version uses goat yogurt instead of the usual Greek (cow) yogurt. It's a recipe from my mother, who in turn got it from my aunt, who has lived in Greece for 30 years with my Greek uncle. An authentic little Greek recipe!

Snip the dill finely with scissors over the bowl of yogurt and cucumber, and season with a little pepper and salt.
Press the garlic cloves with a garlic press and add them to the tzatziki. Mix well. Are you using the regular (thick) Greek yogurt? If so, you can optionally add a little olive oil.

This tzatziki made with goat yogurt is delicious as a dip for pita bread, vegetables, or as a sauce for grilled meat. The goat yogurt gives a slightly tangy and creamy flavor that pairs perfectly with the fresh cucumber and aromatic garlic.
Store the tzatziki covered in the fridge and preferably use it within two days. The flavors develop after a while, so the tzatziki can taste even better the next day.
