Which glass with which drink?

In this blog we would like to tell you more about the different glasses for drinks and cocktails. For each type of cocktail you will find the perfect glass, which absolutely supports the taste and presentation. Besides the beautiful and unique design of the cocktail glasses, they all have their own function. There is also special glassware for the various liquors and other drinks.

Which glass with which drink?

Cocktail glasses

A delicious, homemade cocktail should be served in the right cocktail glass. There are many different types of cocktails and therefore many different glasses, in all shapes and sizes. To determine which glass is suitable for which cocktail, you can ask yourself the following questions. For example, is it an effervescent cocktail or not? Should ice be served with it? And the amount of syrup and alcohol and the structure of the cocktail also play an important role in choosing the right cocktail glass.

Liqueur glasses

What better way to end the day with a good atmosphere than having a drink with friends or family? At Cookinglife each cocktail glass has a unique design. From transparent glass with understated clean lines to frivolous, colorful vodka glasses. Spirits are usually served in shot glasses, but thanks to our exclusive range, it's also great to leave the beaten path.

Funny glasses

Funny glasses are tulip-shaped glasses, high on the foot. These ensure that the aromas of the Grappa are properly released and retained in the glass. Grappa is a spirit of Italian origin, made from the remains of grapes during the winemaking process, and is commonly drunk after a meal, over coffee or dessert.

Wine glasses

A wine glass consists, from bottom to top: the foot, the stem and the chalice. The foot ensures that the glass stays put. The stem allows you to hold the glass and, finally, the chalice. The chalice allows for the retention and distribution of aromas.

A white wine glass is smaller and narrower than the red wine glass. The narrow glass allows the wine to stay cool longer. A red wine glass is wider, this allows enough oxygen to reach it and the wine develops in the glass. In order to roll well and thus give the wine extra air, it is important that the sphere of the chalice is also wide enough.

Water glasses

When taking a wine, people often take a glass of water, but why? Alcohol floats quickly from the body. Because you regularly drink water between the glasses of alcohol, the moisture can be supplemented. Because of this the hangover will be less the next day and you will get drunk a little less quickly.

Gold with foam head

To fully enjoy a good beer, pour it into a beer glass. Whether it is an ordinary lager, a special beer or a white beer, the glass does influence the taste and thereby the taste experience. Therefore, beer brewers almost always have their own glass developed so that the taste of their beer can be best appreciated. There is one maxim when it comes to beer glasses: bottom-fermenting beers taste best in a high and narrow glass, such as a flute or vase. Top-fermenting beers deserve a short and bulbous glass, in which the aromas of the beer get more space.
