Equipment

  • Oven, pizza oven
  • Mixing bowl
  • Rolling pin
  • Kitchen towel
  • Scale

Ingredients

  • 350 g flour
  • 260 ml lukewarm water
  • 10 g fresh yeast or 5 g dry yeast
  • 2 tsp liquid honey
  • 4 tbsp olive oil
  • Pinch of salt

Fresh pizza dough

    1. Stir the yeast and honey into the lukewarm water and let it rest for 5 minutes. Then add 3 tablespoons of olive oil.
    2. Combine the flour and salt in a large bowl and make a well in the center. Pour in the yeast mixture and gradually incorporate the flour little by little.
    3. Knead the dough for 5 minutes on a lightly floured work surface.
    4. Pour 1 tablespoon of olive oil into a bowl and place the dough ball in it, turning it so it’s lightly coated all over. Cover with a kitchen towel and let it rise at room temperature for 1.5 to 2 hours.
    5. After rising, divide the ball into two portions and roll them out on a floured work surface. First use a rolling pin, then stretch them further by hand and shape into rounds.
    6. Toss it up in the air like a real pizza baker—if you dare!
    7. Make sure the edges are a bit thicker and top it with the tastiest ingredients.
    8. Bake the pizza at 250°C for 10–13 minutes until golden brown.
    9. Tip: Use a pizza stone if you have one, or use a preheated baking sheet.

This pizza dough is simple to make with a handful of basic ingredients. By allowing the dough to rise sufficiently you get a light and crispy base. Divide the dough into two portions for two delicious pizzas.

For best results, use a pizza stone or a preheated baking sheet. Make sure your oven is well preheated to 250°C so your pizza bakes golden brown in 10 to 13 minutes.
