King-Kong
This iconic designer duo was active in the design world between 1985 and 1989 and consisted of the architects Guido Venturini and Stefano Giovannoni. Both designers were born in the north of Italy and shared an enormous passion for design.
Under their name King Kong they designed the Girotondo collection for Alessi. This collection consists of silver products, with a motif as if a piece of paper has been folded in half and a figure cut out of it. This design is well reflected in the Girotondo wastebasket, among others. With this pattern, Giovannoni and Venturini wanted to go back to basics. Their concept was to go against the difficult thinking that some artists used and make art understandable again. Therefore, this collection was created as a child would; back to creativity.
