If your pan remains on the stove after browning, it's handy to see what's happening under the lid. If you want to continue in the oven, the lid must also be oven-safe. The material of the lid and its oven compatibility varies by pan.
The SCANPAN Sauté Pan HaptIQ ø 28 cm and the SCANPAN Sauté Pan Classic Induction ø 24 cm both come with a glass lid. For these two, both the pan and lid can go into the oven up to 250 °C.
For four other pans, only the pan has an oven temperature listed, not the lid. The Beka Sauté Pan Cicla ø 28 cm has a glass lid with a steam vent and can go into the oven up to 200 °C. The lid of the Beka Sauté Pan Maestro Alu ø 28 cm is made of metal. This pan can go into the oven up to about 200 °C.
The BerlingerHaus Sauté Pan Matte Bordeaux ø 26 cm comes with a cast iron lid. The pan itself can go into the oven up to 220 °C. The SCANPAN Sauté Pan CTX ø 28 cm can go into the oven up to 250 °C, but it is not specified what the lid is made of.
A glass lid is also included with the Sola Sauté Pan Ceramic Deluxe ø 28 cm and the Sola Sauté Pan Fair Cooking ø 28 cm. The Ceramic Deluxe has a silicone bumper around the lid, and this pan cannot go in the oven. The Fair Cooking has an oven symbol with a cross through it. The Sola Sauté Pan Stonehenge ø 28 cm also has a glass lid, but there is no oven symbol associated with it.
A glass lid means you don't have to lift it to see if your sauce is thick enough, so you won't disturb the cooking. The glass lid of the Beka Cicla also has a steam vent. If you want to avoid the non-stick coating, you can cook in the Cicla on stainless steel.

During cooking, a lid is regularly lifted on and off, and in between, it rests on the countertop. The Sola Ceramic Deluxe has a silicone bumper around the lid. According to the product page, this bumper prevents scratches on your pan and on your countertop.

A stainless steel lid is mainly a matter of taste: in our store, customers often find it more beautiful than glass. You get a metal lid with the Beka Maestro Alu, in which you cook on a ceramic layer.
